The storytellers
Tonton means uncle. In many African cultures the tontons are the uncles. They tell the stories at the table, with humour and a bit of wisdom. Gilbert Ngom and Jonas Soho, both with roots in Cameroon, named the café after them.
One room, three uses
The space was an agency office. Now the café sits up front and the office in the back. The middle changes with the week: dinners, brand nights, talks and watch parties.
